The case of the American Toad is a classic example of WRC's mission statement. Some might wonder about the pretty intense and potentially expensive treatment described by Renee, especially considering that we are also admitting 75 new patients every day. But we are committed to "provide quality medical care for all" wild animals no matter the species or the cost. This case also embraces our goal of "sharing our knowledge." Procedures such as this provide valuable experience and training not only for our staff but also for the many veterinary students who intern here during the summer.
