The first ducklings of the year have arrived.  This year, our first mallard duckling was admitted on April 24th, over a week earlier than last year’s date of May 2nd.  In about a week and a half, our duckling population has grown from 0 to 70!  We were a bit surprised by the sudden explosion of ducklings but the waterfowl nursery is officially up and running now.  If last year is any indication of how many more mallards we can expect, we’ll be seeing over 400 more this year.  And we’re ready for them!
